Ohlone Wilderness Backpacking

This outing is for experienced scouts.  To be considered for this you will need to participate in a day hike Out and Back to Maggies Half Acre.  The date of the day hike has yet to be determined.

No cost has been added to this event yet.  Please sign up to show your intention of going or not.  As the situation changes and it becomes clear that we can do this event a cost will be added later.  We simply do not want to have to refund everyones money in the event we can not go.

Itinerary for Ohlone Wilderness Trail
Tuesday, August 11, 2020
7:00 pm – Troop Meeting / Check for gear, med forms, and drivers as well as clarify expectation)
Friday, August 14, 2020(Trailhead to Maggie’s Half Acre)
3:00 pm – Meet at Prince of Peace
3:30 pm – Leave Prince of Peace (180 to 680 and turn right at Calaveras Road, then right on
Geary Road
4:45 pm – Arrive at Trailhead
5:00 pm – Start Hiking (10 miles to Camp)
8:20 pm – Sunset
8:30 pm – Arrive at Camp and Set Up (assuming we average 20 min per mile)
9:00 pm – Dinner
10:00 pm – Bed
Saturday, August 15, 2020 (Maggie’s Half Acre to Boyd Camp w/ morning hike)
4:00 am – Wake Up and eat
4:30 am – Pack Up
5:00 am – Leave for Rose Peak (1.5 mi)
5:45 am – Arrive at Rose Peak
6:45 am – Return from Rose Peak (1.5 mi)
7:30 am – Hike to Murietta Falls (5 mi)
9:30 am – Arrive at Murietta Falls
10:00 am – Leave for Boyd Campground (4 mi)
On the way to Boyd’s Campground we’ll go by :
KA Dam
Murietta Falls
Johnny’s Pond
Shlieper Rock
1ish – Arrive at Boyd Campground
Lunch

7:30 pm – Leave for Rocky Ridge Hike
9:30 pm- Arrive back from Rocky Ridge hike
Sunday, August 16, 2020(Boyd Campground to Del Valle Lake)
8:30 am – wake up, eat, pack up, etc
9:30 am – leave for del Valle lake (2 mi)
10:15 am – arrive at lake
Spend rest of the day at the lake with boats, swimming, etc.
3:00 pm – Get picked up by drivers at del valle marina, leave for home
