This is not a troop activity. This is posted as an interesting event that you may take part of on your own accord.
Greetings Everybody
KING TIDE THIS WEEKEND!
Let’s Go Negative Tidepooling next Saturday Jan 19, 2019 in Half Moon Bay!
Tides will be an unusually low -1.4 feet just after 3pm on Jan 19 at Half Moon Bay’s Pillar Point. That’s the world famous Maverick’s Surfing Spot!
So the famous surfing spot will be WALKABLE from about 2pm to sunset at 5pm.
For about 3 or 4 hours, the tides go out, and we will be able to walk the astounding reef about half a mile into the Pacific.
This is a rare daytime weekend opportunity to see tons of sea life trapped in the reef rocks by the retreating tides. Animals and algae/kelp are EVERYWHERE!
Walking is SLIPPERY!!! So wear your best water-proof boots. Also, bring a walking stick if you have one.
If you are even mildly interested, please sign up online and we will send more info closer to the event:
SPREAD THE WORD and bring friends! The park is FREE and is open to everyone, so the more, the merrier!
I hope you can join us for a very rare opportunity to see the sea critters of the Pacific.
