Venture Crew 325 is inviting Scouts of Troop 325 to join them on this outing.
We’re hitting the trail and not coming back…..until the next day. It’s an overnight backpacking trip. Meet at Prince of Peace at 8:00am SHARP on Saturday. From Castle Rock parking lot we’ll hike 2.2 miles to the trail camp. Set up camp then do a day hike that will involve orienteering. Crew/Scouts will return to Prince of Peace Sunday by noon. Crew /Scouts will call family member when leaving Castle Rock for confirmed arrival time at PoP. This outing will teach light weight backpacking skills and orienteering. Be prepared for cold weather. Crew/Scouts will cook their own meals, backpacking style.
Mrs. Hasenberg will lead a demonstration and discussion on lightweight backpacking and cooking at the troop meeting December 12.
